Chalk Bass

The Chalk Bass (Serranus tortugarum)  is another great fish for beginners. They are reef safe and very hardy. They will eat small shrimps like Sexy and Anemone Shrimp. Chalk Bass can be added in groups as long as they are introduced at the same time. They are not generally aggressive towards other species. These fish should be fed a varied diet consisting of mysis, brine, and other meaty foods. They should be housed in a 25+ gallon tank. Max size is roughly 3".
